A few weeks ago I met this wonderful family in Yuma. Right off the bat both Veronica and her husband Joe were so sweet and easy going. Both of them are in law enforcement and wanted some family photos of them in uniform with their adorable little guy. I thought it was a fantastic idea and jumped at the opportunity.
Once I started talking to Veronica she explained her reason for wanting family photos in her law enforcement uniform. Her story hit home for me. She told me she would be taking a civilian position with her employment and no longer be in uniform. She said she was ready for a more "normal" schedule and more time with her little boy. She told me her concerns and fears and I could totally relate to her because just a little over a year ago I left a well paying job to stay home with our kids. Years prior to that I also left a uniform position for a civilian job. I explained to her the transition is scary but so worth it.
During the session I got to meet the Jenkins adorable little guy. He was a ball of energy and handled the heat like a champ. In fact even Joe and Veronica handled the heat well despite being in full uniform.
I'm so glad I had the opportunity to hang out with this amazing family. It's always nice walking into a session feeling like I've known the clients forever. Joe and Veronica thank you so much for allowing me to capture your family memories. It means more than you'll ever know!
